What type of Aluminum is used?

We use 7075 aluminum which is much harder and stronger than 6061 aluminum. Most manufacturers use 6061 because it is cheap, but then spin the marketing strategy "aircraft grade". In fact there is no such thing as "aircraft grade" aluminum because aircraft are complex and use every type of aluminum.

What grade bolts do you use?

Bolts are Grade 12.9 which is equivalent to USA grade 8.

Will this fit an aftermarket as well as a genuine BMW crank bolt?

We have tested with both genuine BMW and aftermarket crank bolts. Both fit perfectly.

Does this require adjusting the crank bolt?

Accepted Answer

No. You do not need to rotate the crank hub bolt (which is very difficult, and may require 600Nm of torque). Our product always fits.
